Review summary

This was a wonderful cruise. There is so much to see in the various ports. We loved learning of the history that developed the areas. The ship itself was beautiful and offered great entertainment, activities and food. We were struck with how nice the folks who cruise are. Many were very loyal cruisers of the Royal Caribbean Cruise line and had been on multiple cruises. We wouldn't mind taking the same cruise so we'd have more time in the same ports. The one port that was not very impressive was Corner Brook, Newfoundland, where we just did a city tour. The passengers who went further out to a fishing village had a better experience.

Ship tip

We really liked that we could get a drink, cup of coffee or snack any time at the Promenade Café.

Ports of call

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
It was great that so much was walking distance from the ship.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

5 out of 5
It was great to get to see where the writing of Anne of Green Gables was inspired.

Corner Brook, Newfoundland

3 out of 5
We liked the few stops of the tour, but the guide didn't seem to know a lot. There isn't much to see within walking distance of the port.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Wonderful history, sites and shopping. We would like to have had more time there.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Fun place. Enjoyed hearing the history of place on the walking tour. We had a very knowledgeable guide.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
Enjoyed learning the history of the area but couldn't get nice photos of much due to being in a bus for most of the tour. Enjoyed getting out at a lighthouse.

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

3 out of 5
We had to head straight to the airport and home after departing the ship. We thought it was cool that we could see the Statue of Liberty from where we docked.

My husband and I are booked on a cruise in July, 2018, New England & Canada. Did you wear capris most of the time? I am not a shorts person. Didn't know if weather would be too hot for jeans. Deck 6, spacious ocean view balcony; #6238. also, what's the deal with room service? I read that there is a delivery fee? Did you experience that? Thanks!

That's a tough question. I'd say Quebec and Halifax would pretty much be tops with Prince Edward Island and Bar Harbor close 2nds. We'd gladly spend more time in any of them, but Quebec and Halifax offer the most to see and learn.
