Review summary

Since Holland America didn't give the people cruising any advance notice of the changed itinerary until they reached the check-in counters to board the ship they needed to do this: provide free voice/data coverage to all on the cruise to give them a chance to notify their loved ones/friends/business connections of the itinerary change. They did not. It was the right thing to do public relations/principle wise. They didn't cook up the itinerary change overnight. They had to take some time to make the changes. They owed a courtesy to their customers to have a way to communicate these changes to their audience. They did provide a $50 credit per person for the changed itinerary. That didn't even cover the cost of the currency that was purchased to use in Mexico that was never used and later resold back to Travelex.
