Just saying that same can happen with any other cruise line. I'm sure there is tons of families that love celebrity, same for RC,carnival and all the others as well. And for every family that has a great time you will find one that had a terrible time. Bottom line is its your vacation you can make it what you want.

Kokocay, the issues you had can happen on any cruise line. Last cruise we went on with carnival we were stuck in Miami for a entire day because the boat was broke. Missed our main port because of this.Once on board service ,rooms,food and entertainment were mediocre at best. We recieved no restitution. It's not just Rc it's the cruising industry all together. We are returning to RC in 14 days and cant wait. Oh ya and good luck with celebrity they are owned by RC. Haha

You keep doing 4 night cruises in December, try a 7 night in Feb or March going further south, most islands have piers, private cruise line islands in Bahamas are mostly all tendered, try something new for a change

You pay for your time onboard the ship, not the ports you go to. Thats the way it is with all cruise lines and the way it has always been. If you don’t like that then perhaps cruising isn’t for you.

The main reasons you are NOT compensated when your ship has to bypass Coco Cay for safety reasons is because #1. Coco Cay is a TENDERED STOP at an island that is owned by the cruise line. This means that the cruise line doesn't have to pay a "parking fee" for their ship taking up space at the dock, or for a tugboat and it's captain to guide the cruise ship in and out of the port and since Coco Cay is a small private island, the cruise line also doesn't have to pay for extra security officers to be assigned to the dock to protect the visiting 3000 or so passengers from the local pickpockets. In short, since the cruise line staffs the private island with their own staff, it's cheaper for them then porting say at Nassua, and so the port charge for the passengers is usually extremely low and IS refunded if the ship skips that stop. And #2, the contract you sign when you book your cruise clearly states that at the cruise ship's Captain's discretion, any and all ports can be skipped or substituted. And the usually reason for skipping a port is safety. Those little tenders that ferry passengers from the ship to the island are very small, and unlike the cruiseship, rough waves or a strong wind can easily flip a tender over. Plus, if a storm is moving in, the Captain doesn't want to risk having to transport all those passengers back on board the ship during a lightning storm or major rain storm. And just like excursions everywhere, if you booked your excursion through your cruiseline, if you miss that port you will get a full refund. But if you book through an outside company, then it's between you and that company when it comes to refunds. It has nothing to do with the cruise line! And for the record, I do know what it's like to skip a port (or 2...or 3!). My last cruise was supposed to be to Nassau, Freeport, and Half Moon Cay. I ended up with only ONE stop...in Cozumel. Disappointing, but I still had a great cruise.

Cococay is a part of the itinerary and RC and all other cruise lines have the right to change the itinerary. It is in the cruise contract. Excursions are the extras you book to do when actually on land. RC won't compensate for a change in itinerary.
