Review summary

Expected Princess touches that are no longer available like Pub Lunch, Vista Lounge evening snacks for Platinum and Elite , Champagne Waterfall with Capitan, wine tasting for elite (was told it would be soon but never did get invite. You can only get twice a day service in your cabin if you request it through your room steward. Worst of all, no chocolates on your pillow at night!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Always have rated food excellent but this cruise did not have the selections on dining menus that previous cruises did. Buffets were very poor since it was obviously leftovers from previous three days dining room menus. Waited 30 minutes for a drink one night because of computer glitch.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Casino and bingo

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent production shows

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Have already noted to Princess how wonderful the staff and service was in every venue.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Brand new ship with beautiful decor ------ but ----very very cold. Had to eat in dining room with coat on and could hardly walk through common areas because of freezing cold air always blowing. On a Caribbean cruise you generally do not pack your long johns!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Beautiful handicap cabin

Ship tip

Bring your warm clothes even if it is a Caribbean cruise

Ports of call

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Things to remember about this cruise; this was the inaugural cruise for the Enchanted Princess. When the Enchanted was suppose to have its first cruise Princess had an experienced crew to get the ship ready passengers. Then the virus hit and when staff was sent home,so its unknown if this crew was able to come back after the restart. As far as be menus seeming to have few entrees, this has been the case for the last years.(Not having seen a menu since January 2020,I can't say if they have fewer entrees!). Cruise lines are like the rest of us, they too are effected by the supply chain issues. The afternoon Elite/Platinum gathering was in the Take 5 Jazz club on the Sky Princess( not to say it could be held in a different location) We will be on the Enchanted after the first if the of the year and hopefully these issues are corrected by then!

Sorry for Princess missing a few things. We are on the Regal now and had Pub lunch on the first sea day. Wine tasting is scheduled for today. Our steward has taken excellent care of us. Yeah, no chocolates on our pillows. No problem.

The o ly thing i may miss on my upcoming cruise in 3 more weeks, will be the pub lunch. I can't blame cruise lines too much, they have been without any income for 18 months and have to make a few cuts until they can get back to business as usual. I'm sure sometime next year, cruiselines will be offering all those extra perks and services we grew to enjoy on our cruises.

Princess didn't give chocolates on our pillow during our 2017 cruise with them.

Thanks for a heads up on some of the things we are used to having not happening.

Glad you enjoyed most of it. Things are not back to what they were pre-Covid and they never be with some things. It’s always a good idea to pack a light jacket or sweater. Everyone has a different temperature range that they are comfortable with.
