I think the boarding experience has a lot to do with the port. Princess’ priority check in is just a separate line. Since they have so many Priority passengers it can be longer than the non-priority line. The Priority waiting area can be nice at some ports but just a section of the terminal at others. If you arrive before boarding, you will be allowed to board earlier than regular guests. Priority boarding is nothing very special.
