We are experienced cruisers. We booked this ship because it was the length, the week we needed and had the stop at Coco Cay, which we all wanted to do. It was a smaller, older ship than we have previously sailed on, but it was intimate and we made the best of it. The staff was so helpful and friendly. We left the trip feeling relaxed and made great memories.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Most meals were great.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pool was nice, but a bit crowded on sea days.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We so enjoyed the Comedic Juggler, the Whitney Houston tribute singer, the dancers and the Comedian. We looked forward to the shows each night after dinner.
Children's Programs
We did not travel with children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward was over and above. The wait staff was so friendly and helpful. The bartenders got very busy at times and there were long waits at a couple of the bars, but overall, we enjoyed the cocktails and really weren't in a big hurry.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Empress is one of the smallest ships we have sailed on, but it was easy to get around.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The beds were comfortable. The cabin size was adequate with plenty of storage. The bathroom was way too small, but again, we made it work. We were on vacation and had good weather and a great time, so why complain, right?
Ship tip
We chose the "anytime" dining. It worked well for us because we did not want to be on a schedule and due to the smaller passenger capacity, we really didn't have to wait for a table and got our favorite waiter each night.
We had a blast shopping, checking our the local talent and had a fabulous lunch and drinks at Fogerty's. There was a brief rain shower, but we didn't let it slow us down.
I can't say enough about this port. It was heaven on earth. We chose to rent a raft and float in one of the lagoons (Chill Island). We had tropical cocktails and just relaxed. The shopping huts were fun and had some great selections. The lunch buffet was fabulous with so many choices.
