Overall the cruise was very nice. We probably would not go on another Royal Caribbean Cruise because of the food quality.

Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food was not what we expected. At times it was not edible. The scrambled eggs were runny, the hamburger meat had a funny flavor. I felt like I was eating at the Golden Coral. We had salmon one night in the Starlight dining room. I could not eat it. There was a coating left on my mouth that was strange.
Onboard Activities

We used just about everything on the ship. Except for the spa because they had no openings the day I wanted to go in. The pool area was so small that it was almost impossible for two people to get a seat together. We ended up splitting up.
Entertainment

We enjoyed the stage shows and the musicians. Excellent job.
Service and Staff

Most of the staff was extremely pleasant. Our room steward was very gracious and helpful. The waiters in the Starlight dining room were also very pleasant. The waiter in the Chops Grill took forever to bring us our bill.

Very nice restrooms and common areas. They were clean and easily accessed.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was very clean. But it was very small. The beds were hard to sleep in as a couple because of the crack where the two beds were joined. Two nights in a row we were awoken at 2am by what sounded like bowling balls being dropped over our heads. We were on the ninth floor. The racket kept us up both nights.
We took a private tour which was excellent. We then came back and walked through the port area. It is clearly a manufactured area and not an authentic Mexican experience. But the pool area was very nice. Good for people who do not want to take a shore excursion. Heard from the locals how much the port has helped their community. That was very encouraging.
AMAZING place. We loved the people and the culture. We did a private classic car tour. It was two hours. Very nice. Spent the rest of the time wandering the streets buying cigars and rum and souvenirs. We would visit again!!
Very well done. We had a choice of when to get off the boat. The only thing was when we came out of our room the dining rooms were closed and so we didn't get anything to eat until well after 1pm.
We have cruised Royal several times - Allure, Oasis and Freedom - last November we sailed Empress to Cuba. Please don't let Empress stop you from the other ships - we loved Cuba but will not sail on Empress again. We are leaving next week for another sail on Freedom. Explore the other ships in the Royal fleet.
