Cuba is a new horizon and we were very excited to go to Havana. I was extremely pleased with all the homework I did before the cruise. Recommend people watch YOU TUBE on Havana. Our 7 hour Private tour (havanamemories.jimdo.com) was the best, especially in talking with others that took Ship tours.
The timetables were packed with everything you could possible want to do. The entertainment filled the evening void.
A little concern about pool area where the "no saving chair" policy was not enforced. Too many errant children running throughout the ship, especially the pool and dining room areas.
Also noted that the smoking area was really annoying. One cigar and the whole area stunk! Its not a perfect world, and overall we did truly enjoy the cruise. The seas were smooth and the weather was wonderful.

We used the Dining room most of the time. Food was good, sometimes a tad cool.
The Buffet was a great source for lunch with lots of items to choose.

We used the pool area during the day. It is very crowded and the children are not supervised. I do not think it was the Lifeguards responsibility to watch them.

The entertainment was a nice diversion. Enjoyed the final show the most. Singer and Comedian were good.

Everyone we encountered was wonderful. Room Steward, James did a seamless job. Everything was always picked up before we entered the room.
Our waiter Alphonso was the best. He was very attentive and provided timely service. We never felt rushed. Everything was great. His Assistant, Andri was also vey attentive. Our wait staff was happy and always smiling. We engaged in conversation with both gentlemen learning something about their careers and family.
Ship Quality

It was so easy for us to maneuver around the ship, well marked. The ship is Beautiful and very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

The room was great. However we did ask James to split the bed. That side entrance to get in bed is too small. I like the middle openness. Bathroom was great. Plenty of storage, even for a longer cruise. The cabin was maintained continually.
Ship tip
Be careful of drink charges and gratuities. Seemed a bit high. Difficult to ask first. Maybe something published at the bar.
Did a private excursion vs ship. Had the best 7 hour tour of Havana. Price $115 CUCs for both of us and not the $199 per person that the ship was charging. Got out and walked around. People on the bus did not see half of what we saw.
Left after breakfast in the Dining Room, 10: 30 am. Was told we had to be out of our room by 8:30. No where did I see that in the Brochure.
Also a better explanation of 'walk off' luggage. I was under the impression that walk off was only available for early am Disembarkation. Not clear in the Newsletter.
Use TRIP ADVISOR to get some great information on where you will be travelling. We found an awesome private tour in an air-conditioned 54 Chevy. $116 for both of us. The company is HAVANA MEMORIES.
Havana is a beautiful city that has been neglected. The people are gracious and proud of their country. We enjoyed our day in Havana. visiting many of the areas that we have heard about.
It was also nice dealing with Cruises Only when we booked the Cruise.
