Review summary

The cruise was delayed due to Hurricane Matthew which is not the cruise lines fault.  But it was never really explained why we went to just Nassau (which had hurricane damage as well) and not to Key West and maybe??????  We have always enjoyed cruising and even just the time at sea is fun and relaxing no matter where we go.  We would just think the "plan b" after a storm would have been planned better though.  We were somewhat disappointed about the ship itself (see below).  For a short cruise we certainly didn't expect the newest ship in the line but this one needs work.  Gave a good rating overall, but would have been a 3 on a 1-10 scale.

An older ship that needs some work. A/C on most of the ship needs work. Had to put in portable A/C units and floor fans in the casino. Juice/coffee bar on the pool dack not always working correctly. Controls on the hot tubs non-functional or not even there!

Cabin / Stateroom

Had issues with the A/C system.......room was too warm most of the time. Steward was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nice and had a good view.

She was originally the Nordic Empress launched @ 1990. She was later put into service of Pullmantur Cruises. She was brought back this year as Empress of the Seas. She was built for short Bahama trips. Think she is destined for Cuba. Not a ship I cared for much.

There were a lot of ships rerouted. There may not have been another berth anywhere.
