Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
As a whole the food is good, but they could improve breakfast, and they seem to center everything around eggs, we like to eat in the main dining room. It maybe an age thing, but we like to be waited on.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We didn’t do any onboard activities, so I don’t want to give a negative.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We only went the first show, someone who sang rat pack songs, he was good, but and this is the big negative in the middle of the ship so loud we walked out real fast, we needed to ask service something and couldn’t hear her.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was great,as usual.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean, but she is showing some issues, we hear she is going to dry dock soon

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We love this stateroom due to location, it has a bigger balcony, and it’s at back of the ship, very clean

Ship tip

Just relax and enjoy

Went to the Charleston market, it’s a place that has homemade interesting item, the ship doesn’t offer this, but it’s a 5 minute walk from the ship

Portland, Maine

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Went to the JFK, library, very enjoyable.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
We walked to the maritime museum, very good port

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
I will start, we had paperwork that said breakfast would start at 6:00 am, we arrived and doors open, at 6:15am,one of the people in charge closed and said opening at 6:30am, and he was saying not his problem. After breakfast we went to the lounge to disembark, they normally call by color, then number, this time they called by color and all the numbers, then we ended up with a dog pile of a line, then we finally got off the ship, and the colors and numbers for the suitcases a mess to find, normally we take our luggage off the ship, but we had a later flight.

I enjoyed my cruise on the Emerald Princess. That class of ship is one of my favorites cause I like skywalkers lounge just to relax with a drink and listen to music. I always take my own luggage off the ship. I am a light packer and only require one suitcase. There is nothing worse than trying to find your suitcase mixedin with a hundred others in the luggage area. If yiu want a smooth disembarkation every time, just take your own luggage off, plus it teaches you what your actual needs are for your cruise by realizing you have to lug it off yourself and on next cruise you pack less. I'm surprised by how one or two people require 2-4 suitcases each while traveling.
