Review summary

This was an okay cruise. The food wasn’t amazing, the ship was nice. I went to celebrate turning 40. I don’t think I will go on another Princess cruise until I’m 70. They are a nice line, don’t get me wrong. I feel like they cater to the very older crowd. The live music was even older music. I love to dance, but I couldn’t because the music being played. If you are young, don’t cruise on this line. If you have kids, turn away now, I’m so glad I didn’t bring my kids on this trip... they would have been sooo bored. There were 2 staff that were more than rude, I never said anything to anyone, because I knew I wouldn’t have to see them for the duration of our trip. Hope this helps you decide!

I think you're right that this cruise line doesn't cater to families with children. Personally, that's one of the reasons we LIKE this cruise line. We don't go on cruises to listen to other people's children screaming, yelling and running about the dining rooms. Trust me, once you're over 50, you don't want to deal with other people's children while you're on vacation.

Christy most of what you say is true however you have to understand that they cater to their majority clientele which are seniors. The group is generally between 60 and 80 years old what kind of music do you think they want to hear. And as far as children are concerned it depends on how long the cruise is. They do have activities for the children but if you're dealing with a long cruise they are going to be bored. As others have mentioned Carnival deals with a little younger crowd. Most of the younger crowd don't seem to enjoy the cruising in the same way that the seniors do. If a person needs 24 hour non-stop activity going from event to event they're generally not going to enjoy a cruise.

I hastened to add...the brave ones Costa!

It has been known, if you have young kids you will go Disney, teenagers you will choose Royal Caribbean, young at heart for Carnival and 60+ for Princess...the undecided ones Norwegian 😊

I know that Carnival tends to attract younger people, but I hope folks don’t make a “yes or no” decision on a cruise line based on a single review. We were on the Emerald last Dec, sat next to younger couples (with youngsters) on a number of occasions, mainly MDR and shows, and they said they were having the time of their lives... It’s mostly what you make of the week, different stokes for different folks...
