Review summary

We took our 5 adult kids, their spouses, and kids. Our group was 19 people. Disney did a good job of keeping us together. We had two large tables for dinner and our own servers. Everyone had a great time. It is hard to compare Disney to other lines. My daughter said it is like Disneyland vs Six Flags; much of the same stuff but Disney is a cut above and somehow magical. It is way more expensive though, so you have to really want the Disney experience to justify the cost.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was our 2nd Disney Wonder cruise in the last few months. The embarkation was good both times. The port had two ships but was not too busy. I parked a couple blocks away at the Columbia Garage through Ace Parking for $11 per day. Disney is strict about check in times and you wait in your group. You can arrive early but they will allow your group to go in when they are ready. Our check in time was 11:15 and were onboard by 11:45.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Like my last Disney cruise and review, the food is good but nothing really special. The buffet was better than most cruises but the dining room was similar. I thought the beef was much better this time but the fish was not as good. I suppose there are still issues getting supplies. The Mickey Bars were fabulous. You can get them in the MDR (lunch or Dinner) and room service. The breakfast in the MDR is not very good and very small portions so order three meals to equal one good sized breakfast. Deck food Pizza is very "bready" and not very good but kids liked it. That is the only food available after dinner other than room service. The Gyros are a special treat. Soda is included.

Cove Cafe

5 out of 5

They have a display table with various treats that are included.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
They do a great job of setting up activities for everyone. Plenty of adult games, etc at night.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Top quality production shows but of course they are all Disney theme catering to children.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My grandchildren all said they had fun. Kids three and under are charged $9 per hour and they often have limited availability. Be sure to return your kid's bracelets on the last day to avoid a $14 charge.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiters were really good and very kind to the kids. Even when we saw our waiter working in the buffet, he came over to us, gave the kids origami and asked if he could get anything for us. Our room steward was not too great though. We didn't meet her until her 3rd day. She cleaned the room pretty well and gave towel animals so no complaints but just not very personable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
A really nice little ship that is well taken care of.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Inside cabin had plenty of room. Very nicely decorated. All cabins on this ship sleep four (couch turns into a bed for one and a bed drops from ceiling. All rooms have a bathtub/shower combo.

Ship tip

Everyone decorates their cabin door. The cabin door is metal but you need a pretty strong magnet to hold anything. My wife had little strip magnets on the back of small papers and they would not stay up. She ended up using tape and nobody said anything.

Ports of call

San Diego, California

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Lots of persistent vendors. We did a Whale watching excursion through Disney. It was an inflatable boat and you sat very low so not the best for viewing. We saw lots of whales though.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
A long line but it went pretty fast. We were in no hurry but off by 9:30.

Sounds like a great time, but 19 people must have cost you a small fortune. 😃
