Review summary

Very fun and great for a family trip. We were a group of 5. There were things for all age groups to enjoy. Areas for adults only and for kids only.

Embarkation

From leaving the ship at the port in Cabo to our return it could not have been more fun. It was well organized and we got way more than we were expecting. When we got to the area to snorkel there were kayaks, and things to propelle us through the water. A very well oiled machine. Plenty of cold water and snacks onboard to have after snorkeling was done. Then, they had some snacks and drinks back at the port. The guide was delightful and knowledgeable. The captain of the skiff was safe and fun. My son and I had a wonderful experience to remember. The photos were a little pricey but we still bought one.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
My night time dining experience was not up to standard. I had a special diet and always got my food last. Even though I picked it out the evening before. We weren't drinkers and I felt we got very slow service. One night (after being in Cabo being very tired) dinner was strung out for 2 hours. It was excruciating. Our head server did not speak English and spoke too fast for most of us to understand. The last morning we were on the ship we had breakfast. I asked for rye toast and was brought wheat toast. I politely said this isn't rye and was told it was. I felt I had to argue with him. He finally brought the rye. At dinner, the food quality was mediocre and was usually served warm not hot. My first cruise had excellent food. The last night we were at the Annimator and Mickey paid a visit. We were in the back of the room with 2 five year olds. Mickey did not come to the back of the room and that was disappointing. This was my second cruise and the first with Disney. The Buffett was excellent and wish I had eaten all of my dinners there.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved the adult area to swim and read. The kids area had an amazing slide and it was fun to watch the kids on that. Had fun at bingo. The evening shows were top notch. Fun for all.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Frozen show was fabulous! They were all top notch. Even the people entertaining on the floor areas were great.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Superb! The wristbands were great. They knew where each child was every minute. When the kids wanted their parents they just needed to tell a Disney helper and parents were contacted. Lots of things to do for the kids. My grandson had a wonderful time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters in dining area poor. There was a female staff person that came to the table to ask if everything was good. I tried to tell her the issues I was having and she looked passed me ,kept talking and basically ignored any issues anyone was having. She never asked me again if the issues were resolved. She did not want to hear it. The staff in the smorgasbord area were excellent. Everyone else supurb. I loved all the hand washing that went on. Our room steward was excellent. She knew us by name after the first nite. Very friendly and our rooms were always perfect. The restroom staff was always cleaning and always friendly.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Always clean and neat. Very easy to get around.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The end table was in the way so we moved it to one side of the bed. Then we had room to move around. It was nice and cool and dark. I had the best sleep ever. The bed very comfortable. Maybe a low light in bathroom in the event a mid nite potty run was needed. We had a cheap flashlight and left it on all night for a night light. That worked great. Very clean, Dorrett did a wonderful job.

Ship tip

Expect a wonderful time.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

In all honesty, just went snorkeling which was fabulous . Went to a couple of shops on the pier. Typical Mexico. Didn't have time to see much of it.

Disembarkation

Much faster than anticipated.

Just thinking about other cruise lines. From your observations, is Disney pretty good about keeping the adults area kid free? Thanks.
