Review summary

Great family vacation but be prepared to pay for it. We spent at least an additional $2k when including the Port excursions and onboard activities. Safe for the kids, fun for the whole family. Plenty of entertainment and relaxation time.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth with the exception of the Safe Passage (COVID testing) which caused me the most anxiety as the requirement for testing for those not vaccinated was 3 days prior to cruise while those vaccinated was only 2 days?

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the pool and water slides. The kids enjoyed the Oceaneers Club and Lab and EDGE youth club.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Our family enjoyed the live music, stage/variety shows. The stage shows and the fireworks at sea are must see experiences!

Children's Programs

They enjoyed the freedom to explore on their own within a safe environment. They came to the stateroom very late in the evening.

Service and Staff

Our room host even folded our clothes that were hanging about! Our server entertained the family with puzzles.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our room had a bunk bed and a Murphy bed. Plenty of room for a family of 5. The room was well kept.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the unlimited photo package. We have plenty of photos to choose from for Christmas cards.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

We only arrived in Miami to board the cruise. We did not have enough time to visit the city.

George Town, Grand Cayman

We had a good time with the Snorkeling and Manta Ray experience. We really wanted to do the Dolphin experience but what was available didn't fit in our budget and time. We visited some of the shops near the pier.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

3 out of 5
Water was warm and the environment was safe. We area near the obstacle courses had crushed shells near the beach so without water shoes it was discomforting entering the water. We enjoyed Pelican Pointe with the water slide and just relaxing at the beach. That was a much better experience. We did the bike rentals as a family. I was pleasantly surprise to find bikes with training wheels. We did the Castaway 5k but didn't receive any medals. I must have missed something there. We also waited for the Basketball Free Throw tournament that never happened as we couldn't locate a Crew Member who was suppose to run it. Disappointed in the answer I got from the bar attendee nearest the In Da Shade Game area because he chose not to call a Crew Member for me and had me walk to a further area by Pelican Pointe where inner tubes were rented to get a Crew Member.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The whole process was pretty smooth. Unfortunately we had to wake up and have breakfast at 7 AM to meet our designated servers and get out of our rooms before 8AM.
