This was my 4th Princess cruise. It was the best overall Princess voyage I’ve taken. From the food quality, crew members, entertainment. Duvail the CD was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Very engaging. Believe he was a comedian in his former career. He’s a valuable asset to the Princess brand. I’ve always wanted to do the Classic California cruise. Wanted to visit both Alcatraz and Muir Woods. Unfortunately couldn’t do both through Princess. Guess it was a logistic problem. Hopefully I’ll be able to go to Muir Woods next time.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarked after the first wave of passengers. About 1 pm. Only had to wait about 15 minutes in line.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Didn’t eat in the MDR, so can’t rate that experience. Food was plentiful and tasty in the buffet. They even had Filet Mignon and Lobster Tails in the World Fresh Marketplace. Crew members were stingy with the orange juice in the mornings. Lemonade tasted watered down on two different occasions. Drank water with my meals after that. Burgers at the Salty Dog Grill were good.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed all of the different trivia games each day.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Went to two production shows. Uptown and Cheaza, They both put on excellent shows. The magician was funny along with talented. I’ve seen most of his illusions done by others before.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Crew members were everywhere constantly cleaning. Most members greeted you whenever they saw you.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Well maintained ship. Layout was easy for me, since I’ve been on a couple of her sister ships.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Great location. Retreat pool right outside the cabin door. Christian took great care of me and the room.
Ship tip
Using the laundry was free. At least for right now, so take advantage of it before Princess start charging.
Did the Alcatraz excursion. Very informative. Didn’t realize all of the history of the Prison. Definitely didn’t no anything about the Native American occupation in 1969.
Toured the city on the open air bus. Venders a little pushy, but I understand. Just said no thank you and kept it moving. Had lunch at a local Seafood restaurahttps://www.espn.com/nt. Meal and price was reasonable.
