Review summary

Flight Centre booked our cruise with Princess Cruises in Japan and they did not confirm the booking. We were on the dock in Japan ready to board and we did not have a allocated room on the ship. After 4 hours on the dock and not being allowed to board, we finally boarded and were the last on the ship. Not a nice feeling, we were the last on the dock the staff were packing up and wishing us luck. Have reported this to Princess Cruises and Flight Centre and no response. Hopefully this review will get some response?

Flight Centre is an Australian budget travel “booking” company? Sounds like Princess did a good job of correcting FC’s potential goof. Moral of the story, make sure all of your paperwork has all the information to ensure you get on board. AND go to the cruise line and verify that what the third party agent told/sent you is what you see on your booking on the cruise line’s site. World Travel Holdings companies sometimes have that problem here in the States, caught them out once when the WTH paperwork did not match my profile on Carnival’s system.

Was there a cabin allocated on your booking info or had you booked a guarantee cabin and were letting the cruise line choose? Or are you saying you hadn’t actually been booked onto the ship at all? Sounds like you had a bad start to the cruise but you haven’t rated anything else highly either, I hope you didn’t let the embarkation experience affect the entire cruise
