Review summary

For my first experience, I give it 5 stars because I enjoyed all the wonderful services, good, drinks, attention to detail throughout the ship and very professional and friendly staff throughout! I had reservations about perhaps being seasick, but it never happened. Smooth coasting all the way and that medallion sure makes such cruise a first class experience.

Embarkation

Very smooth boarding and far more expedient than anticipated. Once on board, not really sure what we were supposed to do or go however.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Everything was superb. All the staff was very friendly and always providing superior service.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Spa massage, watched comedians and loved movies under the star. We listened to different entertainers. Pool was too cold, jacuzzi was always overfilled with people so we didn’t partake.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some of the stage performers shows were for an older crowd and some for family with kids. Music that was for a specific era was not always correct.

Children's Programs

We didn’t bring kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Loved our room steward who we called “Kush” as we couldn’t pronounce his whole name. He was always so attentive, friendly and professional. He greeted us everyday with a warm smile and helped us navigate through the Medallion interactive on screen in our room. We were very impressed with all the staff who were always professional, friendly and genuinely valued us customers in that they focused on the comfort and happiness of all the guests on this ship and off land. First class service, always. One superb experience that me and my husband will always remember and appreciate being treated so special!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was very clean and the staff constantly stayed on top of keeping it that way. The lay out was superb except for those white marble stairs by the plaza. I had to avoid them once I embarked as they gave me some serious vertigo. I tried them two other occasions and the same thing happened so I used the other stairs/elevators instead. Interestingly, I spoke to other passengers about my issue and they also expressed the same thing, especially the bright LED lights that highlighted them. I think it’s important to note as a health concern for future passengers.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was always maintained perfectly clean. Plenty of storage for clothing and luggage. Beddings was very comfortable. The mattresses were quite roomy (we had a queen) but a bit too soft. The pillows were excellent in comfort but I would have preferred a smaller size. Appreciated soaps but I brought my own so did not use the shampoo/conditioners. Shower head was adequate. On the downside, the shower was too cramped. That handle bar in the center should be removed or placed by the side, closer to the shower curtain. It took too much space and we were constantly slamming our elbows/shoulders or having to stand sideways, which made it difficult and having to readjust the shower handle so to avoid over splashing. Also, the shower curtain was way too short and water splashed out constantly, requiring additional towels to soak such runoff. Our room stewards was made aware and he did inform us everyone was encountering the same problem due to the old curtains being replaced by these new ones that were not long enough. I found the sizing of this room very similar to the regular rooms with the exception of a balcony. I would have preferred a mini suite now that I know. It was comfortable however. Wish the bathroom had regular sockets for curling iron/hair dryer.

Ship tip

The medallion experience is the best way to cruise. It facilitates everything and makes your experience a breeze!

Ports of call

San Diego, California

First time out of Dan Diego and they did an excellent job. No long waiting lines and people were very friendly.

Loreto, Mexico

Beautiful and serene. My favorite port we visited and enjoyed the long hours we were given. I did t pay to do an excursion but walked a lot throughout the city and beach.

La Paz, Mexico

It was ok. The bus drive and back to the city took away too much time. Nice city and similar to Cabo’s. I did like how the vendors and musician were set up by the port however. I think half a day would have been better for this port.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
First of all, I would have preferred a longer day for Cabo. There are far more activities I would have enjoyed doing and away from all the vendors and noise by the boardwalk. Great city with warm waters and plenty of locations to eat or shop.

Disembarkation

At first, we seemed to be going in a circle on board the ship as they kept moving us to different floors but once off, all went smoothly. We carried off our own luggage.
