Since we were only living in California for a year and we had a small child, I felt like this was the perfect itinerary to see a lot of California without too much stress. However, I wish we could've done it with a different cruise line. Princess was very disappointing and we won't be cruising with them anytime soon.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
As huge fans of 'The Love Boat', we were very excited to go on this cruise. However, the moment we entered the terminal, we were yelled at by the worker by the elevators for going the wrong way. This was after a different worker told us to go that particular way and there were no signs indicating that we were in the wrong place. We complained and finally found someone who apologized and gave us a 'skip the line' pass, but it was still a horrible start to our cruise.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Not a lot of variety of food available and the food we had was just ok.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The mini-golf course was a lot of fun for our son. We appreciated that there was a swimming area for babies but didn't like that it was at the back of the ship and uncovered. It was so hot that our feet got blisters from walking around the deck.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
There were a ton of rules that no one ever told us about. For instance - you can't bring your drink cups into the buffet area. Didn't provide a place to put it and didn't tell us we couldn't have it with us ahead of time. Another time, we found an empty lounge and sat there to allow our toddler to practice walking away from other people. We got yelled at and told we couldn't be in there. Ice never been on a ship where you couldn't hang out in an empty lounge. Again, no sign or rules pointing this out, just lots of yelling at us.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was extremely clean. I think because they cater to an older clientele, the staff made sure to keep things as clean and sanitary as possible, to avoid people getting sick.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
My husband and I shared an interior cabin with our one year old and it was just enough space. Mostly thanks to there being a separate closer area where we could get ready.
I,'m sure you were advised of rules when it was appropriate but I very strongly doubt you were actually "yelled at." I'm inclined to believe you're over stating and over sensitive. Why now are you complaining about this 2 years later? Seems fishy to me.
I personally loved this ship and itinerary. I did this exact cruise in 2016 and loved. You are used to all the fancy thrills and need everything to stay occupied. You over exaggerate, how did every worker seem to yell at you? I think Princess members are wonderful. You are useless when it comes to reviews because you just point at all the negatives. Next time do us a favor and don't post.
