Cabin number: A327

Review summary

If I were given free tickets including airfare I would sell them or give them away. If I cruise again I would choose another line. The Southern carrib wasnt a relaxing place to enjoy white sand and warm water. Id trade for a long weekend on a beach in Florida.

Embarkation

Slow and tedious

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Decent food, reservations are the best way to get a table, book a day ahead

Calypso Bar

1 out of 5

If this was available I could not locate it.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
pools ok, no rock wall no putt-putt course, the are 5 holes cut into green turf. Average age seemed like 65. this is not a party boat, bed at 9 or 10 and up early for breakfast.

Calypso Reef And Pool

Movies under the stars. coolest hottubs on the boat. the redeeming factor was the closeness to the buffet, so we could refill our own drinks.

Princess Links

1 out of 5

a 40 ft oval putting green with 5 holes.

Lotus Spa

3 people in my party received $50 gift cards, One card was used for a hair cut it was $35. Two called to get manicure or polish or balance nails. The lowest price qouted was $200 per person for manicures so 2 cards went into the trash.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The Voice was ok

Movies Under The Stars

1 out of 5

Poor sound quality, I suspect that if the same movie was on in the room most would have stayed in.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
most worked hard, some avoided

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
an old ship, was being repaired during our trip. Lost an engine somewhere between Aruba and Curasau. The attention to detail dropped as the trip neared end.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
attendant kept it neat and clean

Ship tip

If you drink buy the unlimited alcohol, its really limited to 15 per day, but by the time you get to 8 you wont give a shit about anything. Unfortunately I dont. But I thought about starting. If you smoke you can buy pack from any bar for $4 per pack, but they may not have your brand.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

2 out of 5
much delay and little direction.

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality

First stop and to call this a tourist trap is is being nice, dont waste money on the Klein - Bonarie snorkle trip. 400+ people snorkling on a 100 yard stretch of beach. We were Instructed to walk up 75 yards and drift/snorkle down a mostly dead reef. BTW no bathrooms so 400+ people pisssing in the water. Yummy! Mask and breathing tube $5, no flins. In town taxis are a rip-off and unreliable.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Aloe Plant is ok, stopped at a pile of blouders, not safe for very young or some older visitors, the public bathrooms were poor. The ladies room had 3" of flowing water running out the door, we stopped at a lighthouse for photos. We got off took a picture and looked for bathrooms, fortunately not far away is a restaruant $1 to use their bathrooms, on the bright side no one broke there leg stepping off the bus into a pothole. there were plenty of potholes and 8 tour buses, and several Gator/SUV off road vehicles. The restaruant did sell cold bottled water for $1, again in town later taxis were a rip-off and unreliable.

Willemstad, Curacao

Cruising isn't for everyone. 🚢

Our daughter has spent 11 Princess Cruises with us and there are 'younger generation' cruisers - trust me when there are over 600 youngsters on board they certainly all didn't come with grandparents!! The cruise is what you make it yourself and shouldn't rely on others to make it for you! If you had checked out other cruise lines you would have got what you were looking for, but then you would probably have complained it was too busy or noisy!

I live in Florida. Please let us all know when/where you'll be if you ever visit. We'd all like the chance to clear out of the area first.

We were on the same cruise as you and had a great time. Maybe you should stay at home in future!

My Husband and I sailed on the Crown Princess in February, and we loved it. We did our research beforehand, and knew what cruise line we would be happiest with. Princess is known for their more tranquil atmosphere, which does tend to attract an older crowd, but we are in our early 30’s and were never bored. Perhaps Carnival would be more to your liking, although from your other reviews it seems like you would be happier vacationing on land.
