No disappointments for us when cruising with Princess. The staff always seem accommodating and ready to interact with the cruisers. We enjoyed the days at sea which are relaxing although if you want to stay busy there is enough selection to keep you entertained. We are not a particular fan of dress up night...so we tend to stay out of the dress up venues on those nights. Seems quite a lot of folks still like to relive prom night though.
Embarkation

Drove up, got dropped off, went straight thru security and in no time was grazing the buffet on Lido.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Lots of selection and everything was presented well. Steak house was great..always makes for a nice treat. Crab shack night was delicious...plenty of it too.
Onboard Activities

Cruise director and his staff seemed busy keeping this boat load of people happy and involved.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were good...however, as noted on other reviews..the theater and explorer lounge does fill up fast and early. We did miss a few shows as we were late trying to find a seat. The steel drum guy was excellent as well as the piano entertainer.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I always marvel at how they can put up with rude customers with a smile on their face. If you have a smile on your face and ask politely you can get just about anything!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I think I have decided that I like this size ship...It was fairly easy to get around, didn't feel too crowded most of the time, and still plenty of venues to enjoy. Some ships are just getting too big and impersonal. Then some of the smaller ships feel cramped.
Cabin / Stateroom

Was an obstructed view...but not too obstructed. Quiet hallway as it didn't connect to anything.
Ship tip
Do your homework ahead of time knowing the layout of the ship. Then you won't be constantly lost and will be able to discover all the wonderful venues the ship has to offer. Oh, and let the people out of the elevator before you try and squeeze in!
We went on the evening sunset schooner cruise. Very enjoyable. Good drinks, nice snacks and very well kept boat. The crew made it an enjoyable evening too.
Providing you meet at your designated lounge, you get off in a timely manner and zip through customs. No papers to fill out anymore...just a grumpy immigration officer. Found a van going to the airport just past the taxi stand.
We had a very similar experience on crown princess earlier this year, so much so that we have booked for next year too. Cunard it is not but still very pleasant. We liked the fact that we could always find a quiet corner to enjoy a drink and relax despite lots of kids onboard (school hols). The sanctuary for adults only was well worth the extra payment.
