Review summary

I have been on 30 to 40 cruises, and this was maybe the most different that I have been on.  The weather was the problem, nothing the cruise company could control.  We were to stop in Catalina, be the water was too choppy to be able to use the shore boats as someone may have gotten hurt boarding them.  They opted to go to San Diego.......a number of the passengers drove from San Diego to take the cruise, so they sailed back home.  Ensanada was also a problem, too rough to dock the boat, so we turned around and headed back to LA.

Princess had no control of the weather, but I think some type of compensation from Princess would have been appreciated.

Food was good, cabin was fine, the help was more than helpfull, on problem was the disembarkation......we were encouraged to take our own luggage off of the ship in the arrival morning.  Due to the fact there was a full ship, (3000 plus on board), it made a real problem getting everything on a elevator as the crowds were over whelming, and tempers were short.  Think Princess should revamp their thinking when it comes to disembarkation.

Other than that it was a relaxing trip to nowhere.

In the last 2 1/2 years, we have missed at least 10 ports due to rough seas not allowing ships to dock or tenders to run to shore. Going to Hawaii we missed Maui twice on the same cruise! Last year on the South America cruise, we couldn't get into the Falkland Islands....a huge disappointment. If 70-80 percent of the cruises can't access a port, then stop offering that port!

Do you get a refund if you go to Hawaii and it rains every day and can't use the hotel pool or lay out in the sun. No you get nothing, Princess is not responsible for the weather you got your port fees back. What do you want a free cruise.? Read your cruise contract.

funny how a billion dollar company can't find some way to give the passengers something like a discount on another trip or ship bucks to spend on board for drinks or shopping. they can't control the weather but they know before they sail all year around in socal how the weather plays out..
