Nice cruise to nowhere

Sail Date: January 04, 2016

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

I have been on 30 to 40 cruises, and this was maybe the most different that I have been on.  The weather was the problem, nothing the cruise company could control.  We were to stop in Catalina, be the water was too choppy to be able to use the shore boats as someone may have gotten hurt boarding them.  They opted to go to San Diego.......a number of the passengers drove from San Diego to take the cruise, so they sailed back home.  Ensanada was also a problem, too rough to dock the boat, so we turned around and headed back to LA.

Princess had no control of the weather, but I think some type of compensation from Princess would have been appreciated.

Food was good, cabin was fine, the help was more than helpfull, on problem was the disembarkation......we were encouraged to take our own luggage off of the ship in the arrival morning.  Due to the fact there was a full ship, (3000 plus on board), it made a real problem getting everything on a elevator as the crowds were over whelming, and tempers were short.  Think Princess should revamp their thinking when it comes to disembarkation.

Other than that it was a relaxing trip to nowhere.

Cabin / Stateroom
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Embarkation was fine and easy, to disembark was a zoo. We could have had our luggage picked up the evening prior to disembarking, but were encouraged by the staff to take our luggage out the next morning in hand and do it our selves. 3000 plus people trying to get an elevator in the morning to get to our reporting station was unreal. Needs better plan to get people off of the ship.
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Destinations and excursions were not in our cruise. The weather was too bad to be able to go to Catalina and Ensanada, seas were too rough to dock or use the shore boats. Not Princess's fault, they had no way to control the weather.
