Review summary
My family will never step foot on a Princess ship again. We did not book a family cruise to Alaska with our in-laws to save money; however, after spending over $15,000 on rooms, multiple side trips (purchased through Princess), food/beverage, etc., the cruise line refused to reimburse us ~$300 for a zip lining adventure that my son (9 years old) had to cancel because he was scared when he realized what we had signed him up for. To add salt to the wound, the zip lining outfit told us that we would be refunded with "no problems". After two battles with the front office we gave up. As much money as Princess made off my family I am still blown away that they would not refund this small amount. In the end, they have lost our future business...and I hope yours as well.

Thanks for reading my post and your suggestions. We did chat with Princess twice...the way they treated us over the phone led to this post. An ounce of "caring" by the rep would have stopped this. I have a lot more cruises in my life...Princess wont see a dime. I know it means nothing to them...but I have already convinced other friends and family to avoid Princess.

I feel that Princess should have reimbursed you the $300 but not because of the fact you spent over $15,000 on cabins and extras. that was your choice as was signing up your 9 year old son for the zip lining. I feel you should be reimbursed because of the fact that he is only 9 and a child that age is still learning his or her fears. Understand, even though you booked the excursion through Princess, it is still operated by an independent company. By booking the excursion you occupied a slot on that trip that someone else may have been denied because it was fully booked. You can try pleading your case directly to Princess and if you had an agent book your cruise, have them get involved on your behalf as well. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!! Good luck ;) By the way, Princess has not lost my business as our past cruises with them have been excellent.
