Review summary
We started off the cruise being separated from our party of 8 for our dining table. Since there are four children in our party - this was a huge disappointment! The food was average and the presentation was average. The desserts were below average. Poor selection and quality. The cabin was good size with a balcony, which was a nice change for a cruise. Didn't care for the "smoking" sections that seemed to change daily on the ship. Sometimes you didn't smell it but for the most part you did....non-smokers would be disappointed. Costa has a new policy for gratuities, which is automatically charged $11.00 per person - per day. And I ask...."if it is manditory, TIPS, which means "to insure prompt service," is shot out the window. Service was below to average possible a result of this policy. The daily activities were boring and there was only about 6-8 all day long. Usually, 1 - 2 opportunities to play bingo - yet the cards were a steep $10.00 a card. The afternoon tea was delightful. And lastly, the ports....The port stops didn't allow much time for activities..... You truly must choose only one thing....or be disappointed when you realize you've run out of time and have to be on the ship an hour prior to departure.Ship experiences
