Review summary

The cruise ship had a lot of chipped paint and rusted areas. Windows were impossible to see thru in the buffet and several other areas of the ship. Since this ship was headed to Alaska, I'm sure guests would like to see the view. We had no hot water in our cabin and another couple told us their heating wasn't working for 4 days. I indicated it was my mother's birthday and was told a cake would be served on our second night. No cake was ever served on any of the nights. I didn't feel that the entertainment or the cruise staff was up to par when comparing it to our experience on the Ruby Princess in Nov. 2015.

we were moved/upgraded to a room with a window(handicapped) that had no hot water running in the bathroom. Only saw the room steward twice in the 4 nights, once when we arrived and again when we were left.

Ship tip

Try the afternoon English Tea. That was very nice.

we had two birthdaysgot balloons sign and cakes in dinning room. felt like a kid. I looked it.

The Coral was spotless on our cruise in January. Everyone couldn't have been nicer. You have to indicate when you book the cruise that you are celebrating an occasion. Maybe you should put down your magnifying glass and have some fun.

Is was our anniversary in January and I filled out the info on the website for special occasions and they delivered everything they promised including the cake at our dinner reservation the second night. They won't bring it to your room!

We were on the Coral in Nov/Dec 2016. I'm sorry but I disagree with you. The Coral in an older ship but we found it both very clean and well maintained. As for the cake, when you book your cruise there is a part in their website re special occasions. When you fill that part put it goes into your personal summary account with Princess and you will get balloons and a congratulations poster by your cabin door. You will also get a cake in the dining room. Just because you happened to mention it was your mother's birthday may or may not get results because it wasn't in your personal itinerary. Also, slipping a few dollars to your waiter, cabin steward, etc. brings more personal service. Capiche?
