Review summary

This was our first cruise and our honeymoon, so I can't write from a more experienced point of view, but we loved the cruise! We were able to see glaciers up close, take day trips and relax and enjoy ourselves. We even took part in an art auction and some of the art was amazing! The shore excursions are pricey, but you can often make arrangements once you get to a port with companies there, which can be considerably cheaper. The only dissappointment we had was the crowded buffet in the morning. Sometimes we had to walk around a few times to find seats as there was no one to help you find seats.

We went zip lining in the forest and had an amazing time! My husband is afraid of heights and he enjoyed it. After that we went on a bike ride and saw some beautiful countryside. We ended at a lake and saw numerous bald eagles looking for salmon. It was a good stop.

It is clearly a town built around tourists and cruise ships. It is tiny and offers a lot of the same type of shops- jewelry, art and souvenirs. We went on the train ride and it was very pretty, but I'm sure there are better things to do. We had scheduled a helicopter flight and dogsledding, but it was cancelled at 9:15, they told us to come back at 11:45. We did and it was cancelled again. They told us to come back around 1:15. We decided to cancel it ourselves and went on the train. The up side is that we had booked thr trip through the helicopter company and they gave us a full refund. The cruise ship woulnd't have refunded us.

We took the self-guided walking tour and enjoyed just walking around the town at our own pace. We went into the totem heritage center and learned a lot about totem poles. We just enjoyed the feel of the town in general. We were the only cruise ship in port, so that may have helped!

Pros: The ship is really nice and the staff is friendly and always available. We also enjoyed the dinners and wine.

Cons: The cost of port excursions was too much. The buffet was okay and VERY crowded in the mornings
