Review summary

Due to their crew's lack of adherence to COVID protocols, 5 of the 8 of us travelling together contracted COVID on the ship. In addition, our room had the cafeteria crew banging doors on the floor overhead, there was a clanging in the wall from the heating/AC; a plumber had to fix our drain the 1st day; the entertainment was mediocre; and worst of all I had to spend 6 of 10 days quarantined in our room where the room service was horrific! Food took forever to come; was poorly prepared & cold upon arrival. Based on an $8,500.00 cruise & excursions, we were reimbursed $1,858.50 (!) and given a $2,500.00 voucher - but you must give them MORE business to use the voucher!?! I eMailed CEO Ms. Lisa Lutoff-Perlo (LLutoff-Perlo@celebrity) who refused further assistance. I eMailed her a 2nd time and a 2nd time she refused assistance. Based on our experience, DO NOT BOOK a cruise on Celebrity unless you want to get COVID!!

Long before COVID I have kept a small bottle of hand sanitizer on my lanyard. Ships my have hand sanitizer at strategic locations. But I have mine to use for all those other locations. Handrails, elevator buttons, door knobs, arms of chairs, etc. I've always done this because I cruise during flu season. People are everywhere and touching everything. COVID is here to stay. We have to take ownership of keeping ourselves healthy.

I got Covid from my last cruise on a different cruise line. While I would like to see more cleaning of common areas like the elevator buttons and tongs at the buffet, I don't blame the cruise line. People touch everything and don't wash their hands and don't cover their faces when sneezing and coughing. I will continue to cruise and I realize that Covid, like the flu, common cold and norovirus are here to stay. If you choose to be around large crowds, like on a cruise ship, there is a risk of getting a virus. Anyone willing to cruise should understand this risk or not cruise.

Oops sorry 😞 thanks,

Covid is going to be around forever and something we’re all going to have to live with. If you feel uncomfortable cruising because of Covid, that will probably be something that you will no longer be able to do in the future.

People contract Covid every day. That's our new reality. It's not great but it happens. As far as the noise from above, didn't you look at the deck plans when choosing the room?
