but right in the dock stuff closes dow. there is s pirate ship that was a bar that was open later, but that's about it in immediate dock area. stuff in Hamilton is probably open but ferry and bus don't run to dock that late. .so either need a taxi or rental of a moped

Do you have to be back on the boat at a certain time or can you stay in island as late as you want?

Bermuda really surprised me too. It was an amazing week there with three nights overnight at the port.

wcaloway...we did a local helmet dive...we took the ferry over to Hamilton and did crystal caves. we took the 1st ferry on 2nd day there and it was just us and our guide. .later on i heard it was 20+ people in the caves. then we took the local bus over to horseshoe bay beach. ..amazing walk along the beach to the left for more secluded parts of the beach again it was about 10 others and us..felt like our own island. the last day we took local bus to the lighthouse and then just wandered around. shop early as that last day the shops are packed. for the day we did ferry we got a day pass to ride ferry and bus for 1 price last day we just got the tokens for the bus. local bus stops right at dock. just be polite as the busses have locals going to from work so make sure you are dry or dont sit in the seats. you can Google info about the bus system but drivers are real helpful. ..just greet them and tell them where you want to go and they will look out for you and announce and stop as the stops are just poles in the ground

We'll be on the Summit 8/20 for the exact same reason! It's hard to enjoy when you're always running on and off the ship. Also I hear Bermuda is cleaner more affluent than most of those Carribean islands. Much less of the bad element.

My wife and I are taking the summit to Bermuda next week. Any recommendations on what we should see while there? This is our first time to Bermuda.

totally agree! We went to Bermuda two years ago and had a blast. Not having to rush off the boat and worry about being back at a certain time made the trip more relaxing. Also, instead of only seeing one part of an island or 1 excursion a person can experience the whole island at their pace. We are going back this September to Bermuda on the Summit and the main reason is the multiple night stay at this beautiful island. I only wish a larger selection of cruises were offered with multiple day stops. We would much rather go on a 7 day cruise with two multiple day ports of call rather than three or four ports of call of only 8 hours.
