Wonderful time, but better for an older family.

Review summary

We went with our entire family, 26 people. to spread our father's ashes. We were greeted with champagne. Our rooms were ready when we got on board. The dining was pleasant and it was nice to be served and to choose from a variety of the menu. If there was anything you did not like the staff was always accommodating and would get you anything that you would like. There were plenty of activities but you had to find them. I wish it was announced when there was BINGO, or a poolside activity but you can always find the info on the ships daily newsletter in your room. The pool was adequate, but we felt that since there was already an indoor adult pool that the outdoor pool should have allowed children in all areas of the pool. They were kept to one end, which was extremely small and adults were allowed there as well. Many of them were in the kids section with drinks, so it was not very kid friendly. There is a kids club available, but my kids often did not want to split up but they would only allow them to go to activities for their age group. The shows at night were great! Bermuda was beautiful, but I found that we did not have enough info before we got onto the island. The beach at King's Wharf is not recommended. Lots to do, but many people were getting injured on the coral and the beach was not kept up. Many straws, hairbands, and bottles laying around. The shops at Kind's Wharf were nice and I would recommend looking around there rather than making the treck to Hamilton. Elbow Beach is beautiful but it is $65 to rent two chairs and an umbrella and the restaurant is extremely expensive. Our best best was Horseshoe Bay. It was crowded but beautiful. You can rent chairs and umbrella's for $10, have a drink, the snack bar is less expensive, they kids got their hair braided and we bought a snorkel set for $30 that the kids shared and used to explore the ocean. There are also caves and a beautiful view from a high hill overlooking the sea. The staff was great. Our rooms were always ready when we left for a meal. Whether it was turned down or made up. We were in a Veranda Room and loved every minute of it. Made the trip worth while. Our bed was comfortable but the kids pull out catch needed a new mattress. The springs were poking through and the bottom part of the mattress was falling through. Overall we had a great time and were able to make our own fun. It was a more laid back cruise, but a wonderful experience.

The mattress on the open up couch needs replacing. Some mold in shower, and the pillows need replacing.

Ship tip

Take advantage of seeing the shows and go to the different clubs at night. The kids clubs were great and safe.

Choose a travel agent who has actually sailed on the ship you are going on. I found our agent to not know anything about the ship and probably would have gone with a more family friendly line if we knew better.
