The holiday cruise we took was good. The best thing about it was the itinerary. A little disturbing the first night as one of the cruise members was lost overboard. The captain made an announcement at around 12:45 am. They sent out lifeboats but didn't find her.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Food quality was cafeteria grade. We were very disappointed they did away with the casual dining restaurant. We had ordered a table for 2 in the restaurant, but they couldn't accommodate us and made up some story about the travel agent we booked with didn't set us up for 2. But of course, if we selected the "Celebrity Select" dining we could easily get a table for 2 anytime we want. It's really a ploy to get more money out of you. It was a waste of money because we only ate in the dining room one night because the food was so bad. The service was ok, not great, but ok.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Not many lectures as other cruises we've been on. Entertainment was a little better this time. The music was better this time. Michael's club piano musician was good and had a lot of variety and good voice, steel drum musician was good, guitar player was good on back deck during cruise.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Bar staff was always great (back deck, cova cafe)
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is in clear need of an overhaul. It is going in for a makeover in a week or so. Pales in comparison to the Solstice class ships like the Silhouette.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Staterooms were worn. Bathrooms had mold. Not sure I understood why they couldn't use a little more fantastic with bleach to clean. Obviously not enough is done here. Stateroom attendants either didn't care, or have too many bathrooms to clean. I find it hard to believe that management cares also, as the bathrooms wouldn't get an approval rating for cleanliness if they did.
Pros: Cruise Itinerary was great.
Cons: Food on the cruise ship was cafeteria grade quality.
