We went on this same cruise last July, and the ship sailed into the harbor near the statue and did a couple of passes before stopping and doing a 360 so everyone could see it. Great views of both the statue and lower Manhattan if you're into that kind of thing.

yes they cruise close to Lady Liberty too give everyone a great view. my in-laws from Virginia have never been to NYC and really enjoyed the opportunity to see her

Part 1... If asking if what the timing of the sail by of Liberty Island is from Bayonne, it varies. Permission by the harbor master for the pilot to backtrack up the Hudson River does not always happen. A schedule needsNarrowed bridge.

part 2... The statue will be visible to those on the docked ship, further north into the Hudson River. Balconies facing north (ship alternates docking bow or stern in) might have obstructed views of the statue because a peninsula with shipping containers is in-between the ship and Liberty Island. One of the top decks is your best viewing option.
