Review summary

Wonderful - nothing is perfect and we all have different ideas of perfect - but we have booked another cruise with Celebrity so that shows that we were very impressed.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Best of all our Cruises - luggage was taken from us even before we had finished paying for the taxi at Southampton City Cruise Terminal and boarded within 10 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5

Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

Food quantity and quality and choice very good and everything was well seasoned and tasty - Not worth the loss of a mark but the side dish of Yorkshire pudding looked the part but was very dry so would have needed gravy to make it work and french beans tended to be overcooked and a bit spongy.. Another side of Cauliflower cheese was exceptional. Waiters were also exceptional.

Mast Grill and Bar

2 out of 5

The only underwhelming food venue the burger was ok but not cooked fresh on the grill and the Hot dog cooked in water and given 30 seconds on the griddle tasted too much like pepperoni. Not much else on offer like panini's or dirty fries - you could always go the the Oceanview Cafe though

Café al Bacio & Gelateria

5 out of 5

Excellent service Excellent Coffee and cakes

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of quizzes and games - we didn't partake but what we saw showed a much more dynamic and fun approach from the Entertainment Team than we have seen on other cruise lines.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Very good in the theatre and through-out the ship, although the Headliners were not my cup of tea - I did feel sorry for the first winner of the Voice UK, Leanne Mitchell, who had a great voice but did not seem to engage the audience and she had to put up with a drunk and very loud guest until he was removed by security.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
On all our cruises the staff have been friendly and efficient. Celebrity crew and staff were the same - a little less formal and more personable, which we really liked.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Well designed with lovely areas like the Hideaway and Library - both spacious areas of tranquility. The Lawn and growing tree and the art work and the additional areas like Quasar and Celebrity Central. I do like an aft pool and sunbathing area but that is nitpicking.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very large Balcony stateroom with a large bathroom and a proper shower door. Very well designed although I would prefer a safe at eye level- I had to bend sideways and down frequently to open and shut the safe.

Ship tip

Prices if you are not on a drinks package appear higher than some other lines.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent - we had to be out of the stateroom by 8am and we had a disembarkation time of 8:30 AM. As we were in the concierge. class we had a separate disembarkation area with tea, coffee, juice and croissants and danish pastries and we were advised we could disembark when we were ready (latest 9:15). Very relaxed.
