Review summary

Great experience for a solo traveler. I never felt uncomfortable and met some wonderful people over dinners.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very efficient. I was a little shocked when the Senior Porter directly asked for tips.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was fabulous and the majority of the staff were delightful.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools were busy but there were always plenty of loungers to find. Every night there was some type of dance party under the stars.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The magician was great, as well as the theatrical show. The DJ was fabulous.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Although I had a safety raft outside my door, it didn't interfere with me enjoying my room.

Ship tip

This was an excellent experience to have this as my first cruise. The one piece of advice is to have an understanding of what the final morning entails. Waking up to announcements and regular calls for luggage to be dropped off is startling and offsetting when you don't know what is going on.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
I spent several days in Miami & Miami Beach after the voyage. Lots of history and fantastic architect. Expensive though.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
I can now take Key West off my bucket list. Although I may need to return as I there is so much to experience. I highly recommend the Food Walking tour. Our guide provided lots of interesting facts and stories about the place.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
There is lots of construction in Nassau harbour so I found it congested and dirty.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
As I didn't know what to expect, I found the morning quite confusing. I wasn't sure if breakfast was provided, I didn't understand about the call for luggage in the morning and in the rush I forgot my travel wallet in the safe. As soon as I realized shortly after leaving the ship, there was no direct number to call in order to retrieve the wallet before the ship left on its next voyage.

Disembarkation - your wallet reminds me of the tip leave your shoe in the vault. That way you are much more likely to remember.

I am so sorry to hear about your wallet. I don't know if anybody found it. Maybe you could call Celebrity. and ask if anybody found a wallet. Maybe somebody who had your cabin and so the wallet would hand it into guest services on the ship. I do hope that you can get it back.

Good advice to learn what to do for debarkation etc. beforehand. I always remove safe's contents the night before. It is too easy to forget. The porters don't work for the ship and expect tips. Best to tip since they control you getting luggage or not.

I also did my first cruise with Celebrity, also solo. Isn't it amazing how much fun even solo cruisers can have? I hope your next cruise is just as fantastic!
