Overall, it was a great, fun short get-away! Celebrity still provides top-notch, excellent, friendly service! It had been several years since cruising and this was a good transition to the future of using more current technology with the Celebrity app, etc. They provided both paper and app info.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of our stateroom. Our only advice is to install more electrical outlets for charging devices.
Ship tip
If you like the more traditional large cruise ship experience with the classic veranda, then the Silhouette is for you. Now, Celebrity promotes use of their app before and during the cruise, even for unlocking your stateroom door; but, still provided a plastic card to unlock your stateroom and paper daily itineraries, too. Once familiar, I found Celebrity's app to be very helpful. Once onboard, you can check the daily events schedule and add selected ones to your "personal calendar" within the app; but, note that your spa treatment bookings will not show up on your personal daily calendar. Though, the shore excursions did appear on my personal calendar. If you have a lot of digital devices, our Deluxe Veranda Stateroom lacked extra electrical outlets for charging devices; so bringing a multi-outlet plug would help.
We arrived a day early and enjoyed walking through the Port of Miami's marketplace. It's casual, a bit touristy with souvenir shops, lively with latin music, and a good view of the harbor.
After visiting Key West many years ago, we were a bit disappointed this visit because the main street looked and felt a bit worn down and not updated. It needs to be cleaned and freshened up.
We did the Dolphin Swim excursion on Blue Lagoon Island. The ferry entrance transfer process was a bit crowded and confusing. I think adding roped off cue lines with big color-coded signs that matched your color-coded wrist band with more staff directing people to the correct line would help. The Dolphin Encounters website stated that they provide shorty wetsuits for free; so, we did not bring ours. We were disappointed to learn there that they no longer provide them. The water was cold! The dolphins and trainer were great!! The dolphin swim experience was so much fun and the highlight of our trip! Afterwards, we showered and changed clothes there, then went to the Photo Lab to see the photos they took of us with the dolphins...they were closed already! So, we were given a biz card and told we could look at our photos on a website after we returned home. So, we did that and were pleased with our photos. They offer a variety of photo/video packages to purchase for digital download only. Then, you are on your own to order prints elsewhere. The Blue Lagoon beach was nice and had lots of lounge chairs; but, by the end of the afternoon, the beach was very littered with trash with no staff picking it up. Also, we were under the impression, that a buffet lunch was included with our excursion; but, found out that it was not. We were told that it would cost us an additional $24 per person for the buffet which did not look that appetizing. So, we ended up buying snacks at the small gift shop. The return ferry ride was more fun since they played fun dance music which many of us sang out loud to together! Celebrity staff greeted us with welcoming water and cooling towels.
Disembarkation went quickly and smoothly. Once in our vehicle to leave, it was a bit confusing to exit the port because a couple of exit lanes were blocked.
