Review summary

It exceeded all of our expectations! The logistics of the operation were superb.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and fun.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in the main dining room and cafeteria. Everything was excellent (and we ate too much). Servers, Rusmani and Alma, were a treat each day.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The best was the interior tour of the ship. The staff and the facilities are amazing! We loved the shows. The entertainers were Broadway-quality and the arrangements, the costumes and the settings added a lot to the whole experience. We enjoyed the gym, the pool, and the dance lessons.

Pool

5 out of 5

I enjoyed it very much, except for the day it was too rough and the water was netted over. Interesting.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Exceptional! We enjoyed the singers, especially Lee, the dancers, the musicians, the comedian, and especially Michael Hick, the historian, who told us about the history and politics of the places we would be visiting.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Vik, our steward, was most helpful. Rusmani and Alma, our waiters, were also wonderful and great fun.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The whole ship, including the crew areas, which we saw on our tour, were immaculate. The layout was a bit confusing, but we finally figured most of it out. A paper handout when we arrived might have helped.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Couldn't have been nicer.

Ship tip

Bring a sweater, even for the tropics, as the air conditioning keeps it cool enough for men in suits and ties, a bit cool for ladies in summer clothes. Spend some time on the fantail at night, to see the amazing stars and passing ships coming into port. Just magical.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Confusing. Glad we took the bus instead of driving.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
The food tour was excellent. Didn't get to see much of the city, as we arrived late, but what we saw of the city and the harbor was interesting.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We took a separate tour with Patrick, which was good. The terrain reminded me of Santa Barbara CA (a much poorer version).

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
We took the double decker bus tour, also very interesting. The hurricaine destruction was apparent and made us realize how fast our cleanup has been in Naples, FL, compared to these islands.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We couldn't believe how well it went, with about 3000 people trying to get off in a few hours. It took only a half hour from the time out number was called to disembark, until we were through customs and waiting on a bench outside for our bus back to Naples.
