We went on the 4 night and 3 night consecutive cruises. This is the review of the 3 night second cruise. The 4 night was great. The 3 night cruise was like being on Carnival. The clientele and experience was totally different and not in a good way. Anyone who has cruised on different cruise lines should know what I mean. We have cruised on Carnival and am not trying to knock them. When I go on a Carnival cruise, I know it will be a different clientele and cruise then what you would expect on Celebrity and HAL. Unfortanately, Celebrity offering a 3 night weekend cruise at a sale rate turned the cruise into a party atmosphere with drunk people yelling and talking loudly as they came back to their cabins early in the morning and people smoking cigarettes and marijuana from their balconies. People dressing inappropriately in the restaurants. This is not what you would expect on a Celebrity Cruise Ship and eventually may hurt their brand.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Because we were on consecutive cruises, the turn around off and back on the ship was quick. The only complaint was the security officer that tapped us out as we got off the ship wouldn't let us keep our seapass card which we collect. So we were not happy as there was no good reason to keep the consecutive cruiser's seapass cards from the first cruise. I get that we were getting new seapass cards for the second cruise, but that was not a good reason to not let us keep the previous cruise card. I am totally capable of putting it away and not trying to use it on the second cruise.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food in the MDM was good but repetative from the previous cruise. The buffet food needed more better choices. In my opinion, there were too many foreign food choices that don't appeal to me and not enough food choices that I like. The best part were the desserts and the large selection of ice creams that did not cost extra.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Activities were good. The casino is smoke free which was great. The solarium was awesome with use of plush towels.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The magician and comic were so-so. The live ship band was great as was the DJ. Entertainment was okay overall.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff was spectacular overall.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was clean but was showing some wear. But overall was still in really good condition. It was a nice ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a concierge class veranda that was a great balcony cabin. It is showing a little wear but was still a great cabin. The shower was roomier than some others we have had and the bathroom had a built in night light. There were only two electrical plugs that were at the desk area but it worked out okay.
Ship tip
Don't do the 3 night cruise if you want the true Celebrity experience. It is more like a booze cruise clientele.
Perfect Day at Coco Cay is a great beach experience. We take the tram to south beach but there are many beaches that are nice. The food is also very good on the island.
The cruise terminal area has been updated and completed and is very nice. But, the shops are over priced and many of the items are made in China. Still not worth the time. I would rather stay on the ship in the future.
It was too fast. 😅 We got group 3 and did not have a chance to eat breakfast. We could have stayed longer to get breakfast but decided to get off at our called time and beat the rush. With facial recognition at customs and immigration, we were off the ship and at our car in the parking garage within about 15 minutes.
Royal apparently wants to cater to that crowd by debasing their premium brand with short trips to CoCo Cay. I guess next up are the drug sniffing dogs and night club fight YouTube videos. Greedy, short term thinking.
