The cruise itself was great. The absolute nightmare is Port Everglades and their total lack of consideration to their clients time, money, or anything else for that matter. Never have I seen such a mess in trying to return to the place your vehicle was left, and the hassell it was trying to even reach a parking garage.

We did an all inclusive resort for the day Barcelo Resort. The only complaint is there was not enough deck chairs available for guests. The people staying at the resort were up at 5:30 am to reserve their pool chairs, so the day pass people who paid to use the resort had no chairs for the entire day.
We rented 2 golf carts for the day. Riding around the island was fun, salt mine, and the cute donkeys in the wild were fun to see. It was a hassle to pick up and return them because of the location of the business.
It was just ok. We did an excursion with an island guide to 3 tourist trap beaches where the locals would not let anyone use a bathroom without paying. They were not even clean.
I did not want to even give this one star. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! This was the biggest debachael I have ever experienced. The ship was docked at least 2 miles away from the point of embarkation. The port authority made 3000 people with numerous pieces of luggage either board one of 3 shuttles to be taken to a parking garage, or someone had to go get a vehicle in the parking garage, drive it back to the port in a line at least 5 miles long to pick up passengers with there luggage. It took HOURS. I have been on at least 20 cruises and have never experienced such a problem trying to disembark. The ship needs to go back to the place it started from to prevent this huge mess. Not only did it take hours to get into your vehicles, but because taxi drivers, uber drivers, shuttles packed to the brim, and passenger vehicles are all converging in the same little area trying to pick up 3000 people was absolute chaos.
We experienced the same debarkation snafu on our Reflection cruise in January. The cruise was great, but leaving one terminal and returning to another was an absolute mess. We literally saw people carrying their luggage off the ship only to have it lost on the shuttle ride to the parking garage. Port Everglades needs to correct this situation to the satisfaction of all its passengers.
Thanks for you review its a problem that has festered for years both here and Miami that why we won't sail from either Port ever again. It really stinks it will get worse this year as more and more people are cruising. That's the very reason we will only use Tampa or Port Canaveral now.
