Review summary

We had a wonderful time on this cruise. I feel Celebrity may be a notch above Norwegian now, since Norwegian has cut back on so much. We may have to review Celebrity cruises more! This was our 22 cruise!

Celebrity still offers Lobster tails in main dining rooms, something Norwegian has stopped doing. Crème Brûlée every night on desert menu!

The classic drink package includes the best coffee bar we have experienced on a cruise ship! Lattes every morning!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We took an excursion to the Everglades after disembarking with transport to the airport. We visited Everglades Holiday park. Upon arrival we were told our airboat ride would only be 30 minutes because of the volume of groups they were expecting. The place was packed. Spent long time standing in lines. Once on boat, we did not see alligators which I’m not surprised with loud boats in front of us and behind us. Then long line again for alligator show which show was ok. After the show we expected to get right on the bus, but no, the guide told us we have an hour to “enjoy” the gift shop, grab a bite, whatever. But again extremely long line for everything. We would rather have been at the airport. And this was the feeling of most of us on the bus.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Our favorite place to go. Did a snorkel expedition. Had a bad experience at first stop by the sunken ship or submarine, waves were too rough for me. 2nd stop was much calmer and beautiful fish.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Love Bonaire! The shipped docked very close to a very small public beach which had the best snorkeling right off the beach. Bonaire is mostly coral and rocky, but lots of fish to see. Spent about 2 hours in the water! Then we did an excursion to see the flamingos and visited an old primitive beach with hills of conches. It was fun!

Willemstad, Curacao

We also love Curaçao. We took a taxi to Mambo beach, although we were hoping to visit another beach this time. (Been to Mambo several other times). We were told waves too rough at the other beaches due to a storm the night before. Mambo is protected with rocks to make a lagoon, so no waves. It was very crowded because taxis were not taking people to the other beaches. Still a fun day in a beautiful place.
