Celebrity Reflection

5 Night Key West & Mexico (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 18, 2022

Ship: Celebrity Reflection

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Review summary

The ship is beautiful, a close copy of the Equinox with a few differences. The included food is average and the specialty dining is expensive. The premium internet worked fairly well to keep in touch through whatsapp. Concierge class benefits seemed to have been reduced as there was no special helipad sailaway and the behind the scenes tour was $125 per person when I recall it being a concierge perk on a previous cruise. I will sail celebrity again and I hope they can restore the previous level of concierge class that I had come to expect.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Having to take a shuttle even though we parked at the port wad inconvenient and disappointing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5

Cafe al Bacio and Gelateria

5 out of 5

Always 5 stars. Affogato is a must try and is included in the zero proof premium drink package. Lemon tarts are amazing as well.

Sushi on Five

4 out of 5

Sushi and Ramen were very tasty. Make a reservation as soon as you get on the ship as it fills up quickly.

Le Petit Chef At Qsine

4 out of 5

The food was good. The portions were small. The show was cute, but quite pricey for what we received. Drinks were an additional fee.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were ample activities for passengers of all ages including silent parties, origami, trivia, dance workouts in the atrium.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The comedian was not very funny and there was only 1 production show for the whole 5 night voyage. The singers were not as good as I am used to either. In keeping with the average feel of the cruise.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5

Ship Quality

4 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was cleaned with excellence twice a day by Leslie, our cabin steward. The canapés left as a part of concierge class left much to be desired. Concierge class seems to have declined and I am not sure that I would pay the upcharge again.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the fun seating options around the ship for terrific photo ops.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
I must visit the butterfly conservatory each time I'm in Key West. I never get tired of it. The best decision we made was to rent a golf cart to get around on our own for 3 hours. It was $90 from Hydro thunder and we were able to get to our bank for additional cash and visit their beach which I had not been able to do on previous trips.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
We visited Melia Cozumel on a resort for a day pass since Paradise Beach (our absolute favorite beach club!) was sold out for that day (7 ships were in port!). The food and drink were average and there was significant seaweed and trash in the water which diminished our experience.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Waiting for a shuttle in the rain with all of our luggage and personal items was the worst .

Thanks for the heads up on Class reductions. I sailed in Consierge on Equinox and I liked the helipad sail away (it was my first cruise and I thought I was going in the helicopter). I did have to pay 99$ for the Behind the Scenes tour, but it came with a lanyard and sailors rope.
