Review summary

We highly enjoyed our first Christmas Cruise on the Celebrity Reflection. The crew was very engaging and energetic. Although it must be very difficult for them to not miss their loved ones and families during the holidays, that never showed. Kudos to Captain Nikolas Christodoulakis for making our voyage wonderful and entertaining. It is apparent he treats his crew with respect and like family.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Seamless. Got dropped of at Port Everglades around 11:30 AM and we were on the ship within 30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR was good. Lido Deck Buffett was typical and average. Did not do a Specialty Restaurant.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
N/A

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Performance shows in the theater were very good. On board orchestra was really good. Comedians were good. They did have a Neil Diamond impersonator that was terrible. Many guests walked out during both of his performances. He appeared to be drunk. He was the talk of the ship the next day.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had your time dining and continually went back and asked for β€œAhmed’s” section. He was awesome. The Passport Bar (Deck 3 - Lobby) had an awesome evening Bartending Staff. Shout out to OLEKSII, CHAIRIL, and HECTOR.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Overall cleanliness was good, but it is apparent this vessel is due for serious refurbishment.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Kept very clean and our Steward, Francis was fantastic. Cabins need updated as well. We had a constant issue with our stateroom shower, in spite of multiple visits from maintenance (plumbing). The water temperature would not properly adjust. The lowest temperature was much too hot, in spite of having it at the lowest setting. This same issue was not present in the bathroom sink, where you could get cold water. I am no plumber, but is seemed to me that for some reason, the showers access to cold water was somehow restricted or out of whack. Seems to me there should be a way to fix this. I actually got out of each shower, sweating because of the water being to warm.

Ship tip

Try a Cruise over Christmas πŸŽ„. It was a lot of fun and memorable.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
We were scheduled for a late afternoon arrival and it ended up being even later due to rough seas and a sick passenger who had to be airlifted off the ship on our way to San Juan, which was our 1st Port of Call.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Beautiful weather. Walked to town and back.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Very busy on Christmas Eve. Walked around downtown on the Dutch side.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Did self assist and had no issues.
