You either love or hate Transatlantic cruises-I love the sea days for relaxing, lectures, language lessons, dance classes, pool competitions, galley and operations tours, liquor tastings, movies and stage shows, lounge entertainers, specialty restaurants. Port days are fun and diverting; take a tour for a different perspective of a port: unless you have done lots of research or have a specific destination in mind, wandering around in your own does not give you a fair impression of what the port has to offer!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fast, efficient. Shore staff were organized, courteous, prepared.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Main dining room Opus was very good- serving staff were great. Specialty restaurants were outstanding: Murano was superb; Tuscan Grill was amazing; The Porch is a treasure; QSine is delightful.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The entertainment staff were hard-working and well prepared for the many sea days when cruisers need more distraction.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The musical groups throughout the ship were very talented; stage performers were also very good (unfortunately there was quite a duplication of material); aerialists were terrific. Would have liked to have seen more of the on-board singers and dancers.
Children's Programs
Transatlantic cruise- there were maybe 5 children on board!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every staff member seemed to be extra happy and helpful- room stewards were very obliging and flexible around our changing schedules. The crew- especially Captain and Officers were very present, mixing with guests and always available for questions and photos.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Love the Reflection: good layout, easy to get around, on-off boarding process was easy. Everything seemed to be well- maintained and at every port there were crew members cleaning, washing, painting, repairing and replacing what was needed.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Standard size and furnishings, but well maintained, clean and very comfortable.
Ship tip
The Martini Bar May be a Centre if focus but there are are several other lounges that are terrific.
Although the “party season” was over it was very interesting to wander and explore the historic cathedral, fortress, city walls and hidden churches, restaurants and cafes.
Climbed the “Rock” and experienced several tribes of Barbary apes. Lots of shopping. Nice British feel and British stores-fish and chips anyone? There are lots of historical sites.
Have been several times before; this time we took the tram to the very end of the line- way up on the mountain - to the community called Trinidad. Great experience.
Although not directly hit by hurricane, the economy and travel industry have been negatively impacted. Some rebuilding going on and lots of bargains in many stores.
Departing the ship was a breeze but the port seemed unprepared for 3000 arrivals- it was very slow clearing immigration ( not the fault of the cruise line).
