Review summary

We took Celebrity because our cruise consultant (and others) raved about it. We were pretty disappointed in the line. It was not the experience we expected. The service was not very good. Overall the staff was not friendly. We had a few issues and no one ever got back to us. We had to keep going to guest services and shore excursion people to get updates on our issues. The food was just okay and the activities were not very good. We may or may not do another cruise on Celebrity - despite the great itinerary, it was an overall disappointment.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
It was a little confusing finding the port. We drove around the port for about 20 minutes. The taxi driver said it was always hard to figure out where to embark.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The MDR was good. The specialty restaurants were just average. The service was okay, but not great. Overall it was pretty disappointing in the specialty dinning.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
There was not a lot to do on the ship. There was not enough space for people to gather to attend the few activities they had. The trivia was fun and was always full.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The live entertainment was just average.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The staff was okay. They did not seem really interested in being helpful. We asked the person filling for the concierge if we could trade our champagne for wine and they never got back to us with an answer. When we wanted a table for 2 in dining, they scowled at us and pointed us in the direction of a table. The service was very hit or miss. Some of the bartenders were quite rude.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean. They came by and cleaned the tables as people left them.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our steward was great. The room was always clean. We had extra towels as requested. He brought us better pillows when we asked for them.

Ports of call

Greenock (Glasgow), Scotland

4 out of 5
We did the whiskey tour and it was great.

Reykjavik, Iceland

3 out of 5
I did two excursions - the downtown tour and the ring of fire. Both were good.

Akureyri, Iceland

3 out of 5
The city is beautiful. I did a tour to the waterfall and it was great.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

3 out of 5
We did not have time to see the city, but we did the Gin tour and was very interesting.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

3 out of 5
We did Charles Fort and Kinsale. It was great.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
We did not get tags for disembarking. When I went to ask for them, we could not get the time we wanted. It was bit confusing on how the process was going to work.
