Review summary

Really enjoyed our cruise on Celebrity Reflection. Booked another cruise onboard for the sister ship Silhouette next year.

Embarkation

Long wait in line for Check in, but then we immediately got on the ship. Much faster and easier than Royal Caribbean.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Service and food in the main dining room was excellent. Our waiters were amazing, seeing to our every need and were very concerned that we enjoyed the meal. Buffet was good with lots of options and made for a fast meal in the mornings. Did not try any specialty dining since we were so pleased with the menus in the main dining room,

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Love the solarium for kid free relaxation. Also like that Celebrity has plenty of towels readily available and you don't have to check them out like other cruise lines (Norweigan) with fear of being charged $25 if you lose it. Fitness center was well equipped, of course peak times there was often a wait for a machine.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Performances were absolutely wonderful! They fly in performers, like Broadway stars to sing from Les Miserables and Phantom. Best performance! Also enjoyed the nightly band performances that inspired cruise couples to dance.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

Our room steward Ali was amazing. He learned our habits quickly and always had the room made up before we returned from breakfast. Little touches, such as providing a pillow case for my mom's travel pillow, to giving us extra towels without asking, and opening the door for us when he saw us walking down the hall carrying beverages, made us feel special wand well cared for. The two waiters we had in the main dining room were a delight too. They really cared that we had a wonderful meal and cruise. When we would see them outside of the dining room they would make a point to say hello and give us hugs. Unfortunately for us, they will be on the Equinox next year when we are on the Silhouette (yeah, we asked in hopes we'd see them again).

Ship Quality

Very clean and well maintained ship. Someone is always in the public bathrooms cleaning and replacing towels. The orchids throughout are a nice touch too.

Cabin / Stateroom

Never once heard our neighbors. Nice quiet location not too far from the elevators. The game room on deck 9 made a great meeting place for our traveling companions.

Ship tip

Take a surge protector and a small travel hair dryer of your own. The room only has two outlets, plus a specialty outlet in the bathroom for the ship's razor and by the vanity for the ship's hairdryer. No one used the razor, but the hairdryer has a switch that you must hold down continually to keep it on. Makes it impossible to style your hair this way, so I brought my own. But then that leaves only one outlet for charging phones. I took a surge protector that also had USB outlets for charging devices.

Ports of call

St. John's, Antigua

Did a bus tour of he island with stops at a few locations. Booked through Celebrity. The seats over the wheels had zero legroom unless your knees were bent up into your chest. Considering the number of older people with bad knees on this excursion, the tour needs to limit the number of people on each van so no one has to sit in these rows.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Nice tour of Mount Gay rum distillery with samples. Enjoyed some of the quaint shopping cottages.

Castries, St. Lucia

Lovely island. Will definitely return.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Had two days in his port and did a horseback ride into the ocean. Magical!

Disembarkation

Very fast and efficient. Had been worried about the timing of my 10:40 am flight home, but thanks to the quick disembarkation and fast exit through customs, we were there in plenty of time.

Can’t go wrong booking a future cruise onboard. The onboard credit($500) and guaranteed drinks package speak for themselves. Going on Reflection for the 3rd time in June. Can’t wait
