Review summary

This was my first cruise and as such I was a bit spoiled as we were able to have a balcony suite on the Aqua Class level.  The room and balcony were lovely and really added to the experience.  I very much enjoyed most aspects of this first adventure.

Pros:  cabin, restaurants, spa, gym, general cleanliness and condition of ship, plenty of space on the ship, restaurant wait staff was outstanding, food was top notch.  We even had an issue one morning at breakfast in Blu (waited over 20 mins and still weren't served or waited on) but when we brought it to their attention they did everything they could to fix it.  Service from that point on was EXCELLENT and we tipped nicely to show our appreciation at the end of the cruise

Cons: Pool size was horribly small for a ship that size, and when at sea day it was not fun trying to either lay near the pool or even go in to get wet!  Bar servers were ok at best - rarely acknowledged you, let alone were happy or courteous, not friendly at all and when you tried to joke with them they barely responded.  Understand that its probably not all fun and games for them but we had some real un-personable individuals and getting a drink was like pulling teeth at times.  The entertainment was ok - music performers were good but the other performs were so-so.  The only other thing that was very irritating was the time waiting for elevators at times.  And even though I am a stair user - when we need to go 7 or more floors it wasn't an option but wait times for elevators could be excessive.

Overall, a very nice experience and I will likely go on another - I will research as to what the right boat is for our needs a little more now that I know what it feels and looks like.

Blu was great - Tuscan was good but still love Blu more. Great recommendations and our servers were so personable and helpful! Gelato was great as well. Drinks were good - love the martini bar and the variety to choose from.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was very nice and bed was very comfy - slept great! Our butler John was nice - not overly friendly but ok. Would have liked a towel animal every night but only got 2.

Ship tip

Be aware that on sea days if you like the pool it will be challenging to get in or near!
