Review summary
A beautiful new ship, a great itinerary, great food and wonderful beds, the cabin staff treated us like old friends, even those not responsible for us, but a few lttle things that need fixing get in the way. The on board scheduling was a mess. All major activites were bunched together between 11am & 2pm, often overlapping, Lunch was served at the same time, so that when you did get a break, all that was available were cheese wedges and pasta, and unless you love cheesecake & gellato there were no desserts at all, ever. An important note:this ship is part of a class of ships that new fuel efficency technoligies are being tested on (good), but some of these changes have also effected the stability of the ship (for the better or worse dependinging on your feelings about constant motion). The ship rolls gently to moderatly, even in calm seas, and actually pithes up and down in rolling waves, something we have never experienced before even after having sailed in gale force winds & major storms. We have been on ships that you would never know were at sea if you didn't look out a window, this is not one of them.
On a brighter note, however, it had the best kids program we have ever seen! Extended hours were available and the staff was amazing. Our 9 year old got to tour the bridge & backstage at the theatre! She never wanted to leave the Kid Factory, so we were able to enjoy the ship together as a couple. Fix the scheduling & dessert problems and the cruise would have been 5 stars.
Our agent, Kimberly, was fantastic, went above & beyond to get us everything and had a much, much better selection of cabins to chhose from then Celebrity itself was offering! is the only way to go.
