Review summary

My husband and I took our first cruise ever with Celebrity in December of 2001 to the Eastern Caribbean. We found a great deal, only $499 for an outside cabin, it was a once in a lifetime special! The ship was very beautiful and elegant, especially the Metropolitan restaurant. I absolutely loved the fact that if we were hungry at any time of the day, there was food available. They had breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets, and my favorite part was the amazing desserts, especially the cheesecakes, that were offered! They also offered the breakast, lunch, and dinner seatings at the restaurant, in which better and fancier food were available. For example, we had lobster tail one night, shrimp and scallops pasta on some other nights, etc. Overall, the food was excellent, even at the buffets. There was also food for kids, such as pizza during the day in the pool area, as well as hamburgers and fries. And ice cream was available at all of the buffets! There is even a section in the buffets where pasta can be made to your personal taste. My very favorite part was the afternoon tea, do not miss it! They offered every cheesecake imaginable; amazing desserts, they were just great! The midnight buffets were amazing, great food and entertainmentent were offered. But please do not miss the last buffet which is amazing as well as the elegant afternoon tea, which only takes place once. The entertainment was good; singing and dancing shows, pianists, and comedians were showcased. I am very afraid to go on another cruise line after cruising on the Millennium. The ship was nice, the food was great, the rooms were roomy, and service was good (but I would not say that service was great). I recommend this line and this specific ship to any one!
