Review summary

While the layout of the ship depicted classical lines of old, ship maintenance was clearly lacking. Cleanliness is something that CANNOT be compromised on cruise ships.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Several of the formal meals were less than inviting in terms of selection, variety and taste. Not at all comparable to other cruise lines.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The waiters and assistants in the restaurants were go-getters! Skip the perfunctory maitre d' visit to the table to ask how was everything; he never seemed genuinely interested.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Appreciated the Halloween decorations in the atrium area.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Comfortable layout of the stateroom with ample clothing storage for a 4 night cruise.

Ports of call

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
We'd been to Victoria many times but this is the first time we walked miles around local neighborhoods and ultimately up to Craigdarroch Castle. Wouldn't have missed that for the world!!! The docents are marvelous. Walking around the neighborhoods of Lower Cook Street Village, James Bay and Oak Bay was delightful. Stopped by for coffee at the Ogden Point Cafe right off the ship; was so impressed with the knowledge of the dive shop personnel, we will likely return and book a charter with them.
Don't Miss: Craigdarroch Castle, Emily Carr House

Nanaimo, British Columbia

Information Table after disembarking was hosted by some really friendly, warm and knowledgeable local volunteers. All the local vendors were welcoming and opened their shops especially for the ship visitors. Local banners with children's art was marvelous!
Don't Miss: Photos of Saint Peter's Roman Catholic Parish, The Bastion

Pros: Welcome aboard champagne greeting, balcony upgrade for early booking

Cons: Food : limited selection, mediocre flavor and presentation
