It is always good to get away. Celebrity usually exceeds our expectations. However, I would have to say they fell short this time. Staff and crew were excellent. Food was great. Entertainment was 2 out of 3 very good. Room, unfortunately was a disappointment.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We arrived by bus around 11:30 expecting long lines. Check in was a breeze, even with the extra questions surrounding the Corona virus. Website was cautioning travel in the past 15 days to the infected area, and at the port, the limit was raised to 20. I do not know if any passengers were refused.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We were fortunate to have Luminae for our dining. Food and service was outstanding. It was the third cruise that we had the same waiter on three different ships.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Participated in a few trivias, not much else.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
"Broken Strings" was broken, but the "iBroadway" show and guest entertainer Marcus Terell were very good.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Waiters, officers and crew were accommodating. Casino dealer Mindy had great personality. Only saw our Butler 2 times, I guess since we did not really need anything.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Design and cleanliness were great, ...but November can't come quick enough for the refit and revolution.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
Well....we had sailed on this same ship in December in a Sky Suite, and decided to splurge a little more for a Celebrity Suite. Expecting a "wow", we were a little disappointed. The living room and dining area was spacious with more storage space than necessary. Nice sofa, which I believe could accommodate extra guests, along with a nice size TV. Balcony was large with two lounge chairs, glass was badly in need of Windex. Bedroom was separate, but cramped. Very little space to move around. Had a walk in closet and dressing area and a second TV. Bathroom was much smaller than expected. It had a double sink and a Jacuzzi tub/shower combination.....that did not work. Not just did not work, the on/off switch was totally gone. Also, you need to bring a 6 foot ladder to get in/out of the tub. And if you are taller than 6 foot, you will hit the ceiling trying to take a shower. If you are mobility challenged or unable to leap tall buildings in a single bound, you may not want to book a Celebrity Suite on this class of ship. Overall the room was nice, but the bathroom was challenging. Was it worth the price... probably not.
Ship tip
Ship has some rough corners and edges, you may want to wait until after the November revolution.
Suite guests were the first to disembark,(aside from the two passengers that were taken off by immigration). We were able to make our early flight home.
