Review summary

Overall an "okay to pretty good" cruise rated to be, and promoted as, (and priced like), a truly impressive premium cruise experience. Maybe it's just me; but if the overall quality of the cruise lines and cruise experiences have degraded to the point that this is EXCEPTIONAL cruising at this price point.....I'm done. To put it in other terms: I'm not offended at the existence of Wal Mart...until they start calling themselves a luxury boutique. ( wink)

Getting onboard and checking in was a breeze!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining room was honestly a disappointment; particularly the choices served over the course of the 5 days. The food was GOOD; but not great if you're used to and expecting truly good food. The buffet, while limited in choice rotations- had a lot to offer and was impressive for buffet style food. Although by day 3 you've seen all the options, they do rotate things through on a daily basis. Walk all the way around! Oddly enough- I had the best Cuban sandwich EVER one night on the buffet...as well as beef wellington. The main dining room was a dissapointment- offset by a darned good buffet, and an AMAZING show/ dinner at Qsine. I was expecting a cute show...but not the truly good food it showcased. For Celebrities prices; quality WITHOUT paying extra should be the norm in the main.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
All of the CLA activities were well run, and fun! For our ( just POST Xmas) cruise, I can't fault the staff for the amount of teenagers and truly drunken adults who seemed a bit less than happy. The Cruise staff did a phenomenal job with the energy they had to work with!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The "pop up" singers, string duets were very impressive and sounded great. The silent disco is a MUST ....but the stage shows were "pretty good". I enjoyed IBraodway and the airlialists....we were happy about both "guest" performers....but wouldn't have been if we'd paid for tickets.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
We had WAAY more kids and teens on this cruise than is typical for Celebrity as I understand it, and the staff was a bit overwhelmed by them. I was told it happens "every year on the Holiday Cruises" which means the line should PLAN AND STAFF for them...or , better yer- promote OTHER cruise lines that are more suited to teenagers. Like a life raft. lol

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
All the staff were extremely friendly and polite - WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A YOUNG GROUP OF OFFICERS ON BOARD; who absolutely "tripped my trigger" for situational awareness each and every time I saw them. Nothing overt (more or less) but these young officers truly gave off a bad vibe...and I have to believe it's a matter of time before they do something untoward, if they haven't already. I even caught some glances that other staff gave each other behind their backs. Something there. No Bueno. Staff at Al Baccio, on the other hand- was to a person amazing.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Very clean for it's age.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was nice - very large balcony- but no furniture it take advantage of that large balcony...and immediatly next door was a supply closet for crew, which caused room service and cleaning carts to be permanently outside the stateroom. BUT the room was clean, the view was awesome- and the balcony was very private! Since it's the only one we saw on the ship I can't compare it to anything else. That said, it was about equal to the balcony we had on a Holland American older ship.... except that HA didn't charge us to upgrade to a C1 Concierge class after already paying for a balcony room in order to get their. This would be a GREAT Balcony room....but it's only "okay" as an upcharge beyond what a balcony room costs IMHO.

Ship tip

FIND THE QUIET SPOTS- their are benches just forward of the AFT terrace that are an awesome way to watch the sunset! ( pick the West side- lol) Service while in Port is great!

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Get up- get out- NOW ...Luggage outside before 10PM; room evacuated before 8am? Also very little info on what Cincierge class folks could/ should do. A whole lot of pre sale C class upselling for a marginal improvement in experiences.

Infinity was our first cruise, and we loved her. We have been with other companies since and although we have never experienced some of the above comments @ chicpeach we still love Celebrity the best and are looking forward to Infinity coming back to the Uk 🇬🇧

chicpeach has it right on. Been with Celebrity for 20 years 😎

A big part of why we like Celebrity is that its pretty much an adult crowd, very few kids running down the halls, pressing elevator buttons and crowding out the adults at the pool. There's also not a lot of 20 somethings, getting drunk, staggering down the halls, and the like. Part of why that is, is the price point of Celebrity and the other the lack of their preferred entertainment venues. Makes Celebrity very worth it to us to be able to just kick back, enjoy the cruise and ship's amenities.

I agree. I cruised once with celebrity and it was great. However it was not worth being twice the price as Royal and Carnival.
