#1...Kelli, you're the best! Thanks for all your efforts...I got the 'outside' upgrade!!The ship was great. This was my 6th cruise and my first with Celebrity. The service was incredible...for me. We were a group of 31...the youngest being 15 months to the oldest at 70. The baby in our group was pampered by the maitre d' who offered to grind his food daily. And our waiter was the best!! We couldn't understand him the majority of the time but he smiled and catered to our every demand and was so patient with the little kids in our group who would get under foot all too often. He was strong enough to carry the usual two entrees per person for at least 10 of us per dinner!! Lunch in the dining room was extremely slow however...but we had our waiter who was able to serve us after swapping tables with another waiter! We ate most of our other meals at the buffet on 10...where the omelets and eggs were cooked to our specifications (always delicious) and the pastas were sauteed just the way we liked with the sauce of our choice at the pasta bar. (A great joy each day.) Other then through room service, it would have been nice to be able to get hot food and beverages 24 hours-a-day. The food places seem to stop serving fairly early. The gym was beautiful! I felt like I was back home at my own gym, but I didn't have to drive, I just rolled out of bed and climbed the stairs for my work out...aerobics, sculpting, step aerobics and a circuit in motion class! It was fun and challenging...if you have Tony and Jerry as instructors. The Therapy Pool was fantastic for my dad and us older ones, don't miss out on it...while the youngins' of our group loved the freezing cold outdoor pool with the big waves. (Our younger kids opted to hang-out at the pool over being in the kids' program that was offered.)My dad did slip in the shower in the men's changing room, God was good and he didn't get hurt, but the customer relations people made sure he was checked out at the medical center and there was no charge for the service. By the end of the cruise, when I saw the customer service person again, she was kind enough to ask how my father was doing...that was a real personal touch. The photographers on the ship bent over backwards for our group and I must say in doing so, made a fortune off of us. They had a great promo going and we bought into it!The teens in our group had their own kind of fun-though this cruise was more for the older crowd. They still danced in the club and enjoyed the Caribbean night and western night, especially becuse they had each other. The entertainment was alright. The violinist was superb and her husband, David Lucas, was a riot...a comedian and juggler. All in all, it didn't matter to me that it was Alaska's rainy season or that I never saw any real wildlife or made it to any excursions, I was in it for the cruise and it truly was one, where the sevice of the crew really walked the X-tra mile for us.Julie Yuen Aug. 23 - 30, 2002
