We were very disappointed in this cruise. We expected Celebrity to bring a higher standard to their operations in this time where other cruise lines are cutting back on everything. When we cruise now we look for the most interesting cruise ship leaving at a convenient time from one of the 3 south Florida ports. The entertainment is the most important thing to us followed by ease of meals. Celebrity seemed to have cut back on the entertainment. We had seen 3 of the 5 main shows on other Celebrity ships before and this version was definitely inferior. They did a good job on the refurbishment and the ship generally looked new except for some of the upholstered chairs. We won't be cruising on Celebrity again anytime soon.
Embarkation

Quick and efficient
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The service in the main dining room was incomparable and the food was good. The buffet was good for breakfast and not so good for lunch. The food was generally overcooked and unappetizing. Think high school cafeteria. The pizza however was very good.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Pool was OK . Couldn't find anything to participate in.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
We are frequent cruisers. This was our 6th this year. The production shows were amateur. The dancers were often not in sync and the choreography was unimpressive. The first comedian was simply not funny. The "crooner" backed by live music was entertaining. The second comedian was very funny. Most cruise ships we have been on have comedians in one of their lounges in addition to the main stage productions. By having them as headliners they obviously save money and reduce the amount of featured entertainment.
Children's Programs
Didn't bring kids and there were very few on board
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Main Dining room staff were excellent. Buffet staff were slow and not very efficient at cleaning tables. Not enough bar staff on the floor during main meals. Our room steward(es) was very good.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Layout and design was OK. Ship was clean. Recent dry dock freshened up the ship, however, they left most of the upholstered chairs and some had tears on the arms. Our stateroom sofa had two large tears on the armrest.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
All OK, except for the "stale" odor. They did not change the sheets for the entire cruise, but they were very high quality and comfortable.
Ship tip
Check the entertainment in advance if you can. On this saiing it was not up to what we expected from Celebrity.
You lost me at describing the buffet as comparable to cafeteria fare. If you want entertainment, go to Vegas. This is a cruise ship, and an awesome one at that. You have no idea what goes into scripting, choreographing, costuming, props, etc. a new production show. Last month there were 2 comedians on the ship, both of them good. I would easily give this ship a 9 out of 10, overall. Not perfect, but still fantastic.
So sorry you had this experience. We were on the ship the week before and it was excellent. Our room steward changed the sheets daily and cleaned our room 3 times a day. He even folded clothes that we left on the sofa to use later or for laundry. Cabin 8315. Richy was our steward.
Interesting what different people focus on. The itinerary is our primary reason for choosing a particular cruise. Entertainment is not something we usually consider when booking. If entertainment is of importance, The Royal Caribbean Oasis or Quantum class ships, the larger NCL Ships and MSC’s larger ships all get good reviews for entertainment.
